đȘ§ A New Church Plant in East Bethel, MN: Destination Church
Weâre excited to share an important update in the life of Pursuit Community Churchâand invite you to be part of it.
đ± Why Church Planting?
From day one, Pursuit has had a heart for multiplication. Weâve committed to planting a new church every five years (or so) and have set aside 5â6% of our annual giving into an escrow account to fund these efforts. Our first plant, Catalyst Covenant Church in White Bear, launched four years ago with our support. Now, with $60,000 already saved, itâs time to plant again.
đ Where & When?
This fall, Pastor Josh Meyers will plant Destination Church in East Bethel, Minnesotaâan area we believe will grow exponentially over the next decade. Destination Church will launch with the support of Transform Church, Oak Haven Church, and Pursuit Community Church.
đ Meet Pastor Josh Meyers
Josh is no stranger to Pursuit. He has preached with us a few times, most recently in January 2025. Heâs served in full-time ministry for over a decade and has been on staff at Transform Church since 2016 as Youth & Creative Pastor. Josh has completed the Converge Church Planter Assessment and brings both proven ministry leadership and a powerful personal testimony.

Joshâs Story (excerpt):
âAt 15, I asked, âIf life is this hard, why live it?â I was wrestling with suicidal thoughtsâuntil I heard a testimony at church that sounded just like mine. That night changed everything. I gave Jesus a chance, and it was the best decision of my life... Now Iâve spent my life helping others find the same hope and healing I found in Christ.â

đ€ Our Role
Pursuitâs Directional Leadership Team has unanimously voted to:
Support Destination Church with $60,000 over 5 years (already saved in full)
Retain a board seat for accountability and guidance
Provide coaching and leadership support in partnership with the other churches
This decision aligns with our valuesâand we believe itâs a meaningful, strategic, and Spirit-led step. While a vote is not technically required, we want our covenant members to affirm this direction with us.
â Covenant Member Vote: April 27
Following our service on Sunday, April 27, weâll hold a brief vote from our covenant members. No additional discussion or Q&A will be held at that time.
